Accreditation
In 2008, Oklahoma Christian University requested approval to offer the MSE degree from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools [30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602 (800-621-7440)]. The HLC is responsible for regional accreditation of higher learning institutions including all in the state of Oklahoma. The HLC conducted a site visit of our campus in December 2008 to look at the proposed MSE degree program. Subsequently, the HLC issued approval for the university to provide this degree as part of the accredited university degree offerings.
All three undergraduate engineering programs offered by Oklahoma Christian University are also accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET [111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012 (410-347-7700)]. While ABET does offer accreditation of master level programs after graduates have been produced, it is not common practice for a university to seek ABET accreditation at this level.
