Whether you are completing your bachelors degree, have been called to serve God from another career, or are currently working in ministry, the Graduate School of Theology at Oklahoma Christian University invites you to advance your ministry training and preparation with us. You have found a place that will faithfully equip you for ministry.

Our Mission

Affiliated with the Churches of Christ, OC’s Graduate School of Theology welcomes all students who honor our commitment to academic and spiritual excellence and who respect the academic and spiritual pursuits of their fellow students. All students who desire a superior graduate level education in biblical studies, theology, and practical ministry are welcome.

Our Schedules

The majority of fall and spring semester courses are taught on Tuesdays for the convenience of student travel. Many of our students commute from Tulsa and Altus, while others live as far away as Dallas, Wichita, and Fort Smith. They are all able to study at OC because they only have to make one trip to campus per week.

In addition to our regular semester format, we offer online courses and week-long and weekend intensives to make your education as flexible and accessible as possible.

Our Technology

OC is a wireless campus and partners with Apples Educational Program. Graduate students have the option to lease a MacBook while they are enrolled in the program and keep it after graduation.

We use Blackboard educational software for all of our courses. Whether in the classroom or at home, Blackboard offers an online forum for discussion, posting assignments, taking quizzes, etc. It is a intuitive, easy-to-use program that helps merge the traditional classroom setting with advances in technology.

The Master of Divinity is an 89-credit-hour integrated program that seeks to expand your knowledge of the biblical text, Greek and Hebrew languages, church history, theology, and practical ministry. The Master of Divinity is, for many, the basic theological, professional degree and is required for endorsement to become a Chaplain. You can complete the degree in three to four years.

The Master of Arts in Christian Ministry prepares you for competent leadership in youth, family, or congregational ministry. The Master of Arts in Ministry centers your study on the biblical text, Greek language, and the skills to enhance your selected ministry track. The Master of Arts is 48 credit hours and can usually be completed in two years.

The Master of Theological Studies degree seeks to provide students with deep knowledge of the Bible and Theology that can be used in both a ministry setting, and in every day life.  The Master of Theological Studies degree allows students to focus on either textual Bible study or Theological studies.  It also allows for the option of doing a thesis in order to prepare for higher academic work, such as a Ph.D. or D.Min program.  The MTS degree is 48 credit hours and can usually be completed in about two years.
